Equinox stargazing at Gisburn Dark Sky Discovery Site

Saturday 23rd September 2017 from 19:30pm to 21:30pm

Gisburn Forest Hub

Gisburn Forest, Near Tosside, BB7

Description

This weekend is the autumn Equinox, giving equal night and day so there should be great opportunity to travel through the constellations and along the Milky Way. Following an indoor presentation there will be powerful telescopes for you to gaze through, all operated by experienced amateur astronomers, who will attempt to answer your questions on life, the universe and everything!  Suitable for adults and accompanied children 12 years and over.

Did you know; from towns and cities we see just a handful of stars, but in the Forest of Bowland we could count 2,000 at any one time!

Please book early - places are limited.

- Event will involve stargazing and observing the skies through telescopes weather permitting

- Event includes an astronomy related presentation or talk.
